Otago Fresh Milk is a small, family-run operation owned by Steve and Shelli Mears. They have been building their cow families for twenty years after retiring from sharemilking to keep their favourite cows. The farm focuses on ethical management, using a no bobby calf system where every calf is reared.
Visitors can buy delicious, unhomogenised, unpasteurised raw milk in glass pint bottles or 5-litre pails. The milk is produced locally and sold within hours of milking. The farm also offers other products like honey, soap, and tallow.
You can visit the farm shop located on State Highway 1 just north of Palmerston. Payment is accepted via cash or pre-purchase online. Home delivery is available three times a week to Dunedin and twice a week to Oamaru and Central Otago townships.
