Heritage Farms raises Belted Galloway cattle and Wessex Saddleback pigs at Forcett, around 30 minutes from Hobart. The move to the farm followed the sale of a suburban home in 2022. Rough, rocky ground and native grasses led the farmers towards regenerative practices and hardy heritage breeds.
Beef and pork are sold directly to Tasmanian families. Livestock feed includes grain mash and pot ale from Tasmanian distilleries, whey from cheesemakers and bread from bakeries. These co-products put material from other food businesses to use on the farm.
Customers can arrange collection at 83 Delmore Road. Orders for one-off meat boxes close on the first day of each month, with delivery and farm collection scheduled for approximately the third week. Order ahead through the farm rather than relying on walk-in shop hours.
