Privacy
We collect as little as we can, use it only for what we say here, and never sell it.
Visiting the site
- Listings show business details that the business has published, such as its website, email, phone and the address where it sells.
- We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages help people.
- "Near me" uses your location only on your device to sort results. It is never sent to us.
- Questions typed into Ask go to our search helper, which turns them into search filters. Your location is not sent with them.
Sending us a place
When you use the form to add or update a place, we keep your name and email only to tell you what happened, and to send the owner a code to update their stock. They are never published or shared. The details you give about the place are checked against its own website or other current sources before anything goes live.
Growers who update their stock
Growers can tell people what is at their gate today. To do that, we keep:
- Your email address, and your name if you give it, so we can send you sign-in links and contact you about your listing.
- Which listings you can update.
- The stock you add: what you have, and the price, amount and date if you give them. This is public, and it shows on your listing until its date passes.
- A sign-in cookie on your phone, so you stay signed in for up to 30 days.
- Your internet address, briefly, to stop people guessing codes. It is kept for an hour and then forgotten.
Your email and name are never shown on the site, never shared with other growers or businesses, and never sold. The public stock feed contains only what you choose to list.
Where it is kept, and for how long
- Grower details are kept on a private server run for Homegrown, with daily backups.
- We keep your details while you use the service. Ask us and we will delete your account and stock. Backups roll over within 30 days.
- Stock past its date stops showing straight away.
