Simon and Caroline Marriott run this 26-acre property in the lower Coromandel hills. They bought the farm in 2000 and planted the citrus orchard between 2004 and 2006. The business uses a natural systems farming approach that combines regenerative agriculture and permaculture, with no chemical pesticides or herbicides.
The team makes eight types of citrus marmalade, three chutneys, and seasonal cordials and vinaigrettes by hand in small batches in their on-farm commercial kitchen. These preserves have won international awards, including silver medals at the World’s Original Marmalade Competition.
You can buy products online or visit the farm by appointment only. The orchard holds approximately 750 trees of lemons, limes, tangelos, grapefruit, oranges, mandarins, and citrons.
