Slow Blooms began in September 2020 when the founder transformed parts of the grapevines behind Charlies into a flower garden. The business is led by Rebecka Keeling, who holds a Permaculture Design Certificate and co-founded the Permaculture Mahurangi group. The blooms are grown according to earth-friendly permaculture principles with care for the earth.
Visitors can pick their own beautiful bouquets and healing herbs for teas, tinctures, and culinary use. Flowers are charged by weight at $10 per 100 grams, while herbs and flower tips cost $30 per 100 grams. A minimum picking charge of $5 applies.
The garden is open every day from 10am to 5pm. Entry is free with a purchase from the honesty stall or dried range. If you are just looking, entry is $5 for adults and $2 for children. You can find the shed in the courtyard next to the pizza oven at Charlies Gelato.
