Te Mata Figs is a family-owned figgery in Havelock North, growing 23 varieties of spray-free figs and making jams, spreads and bakery items in its onsite kitchens. The main fresh fruit season is late summer and autumn, with a small crop around Christmas.
Visit The Figgery Cafe at 205 Napier Road. The advertised hours are 7.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am to 3.30pm on weekends.
Fresh figs are also sold at the Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Market on Sundays. Customers can order through the online shop.
