Wattle Bank Farm grows gourmet oyster mushrooms in South Gippsland using organic, closed-loop practices. The regenerative farm produces about 60 to 100 kilograms a week, supplying restaurants across Melbourne and Gippsland. Fresh mushrooms, oyster mushroom pies, quiches and take-home grow kits are sold through the farm’s own shop.
The farm gate opens on Saturdays. Its current service information gives 10am to 1pm on most Saturdays, so check before travelling. There are mushroom workshops for people who want to learn to grow fungi at home, alongside the farm’s separate horse experiences and pony rides.
An off-grid cabin called Seahorse sits on the property. Guests can use vegetables from the garden and order farm mushrooms for dinner. The public farm is at 85 Desmond Road, Wattle Bank, near Inverloch. The farm was a finalist in the 2025 Gippsland Business Awards accommodation and tourism category.
