Southern Harvest is a farmer-led co-operative focused on growing local and regional food communities in the ACT and South East NSW. The market is described as a “truly authentic regional farmers’ market, with all market produce sold being grown or made by the stallholders.” It operates every Saturday from 9am to 12pm in the Village Square at 23 Malbon St Bungendore.
Visitors can find fresh, locally grown produce, meat, eggs, and honey from stallholders like Branch and Burrow and Jerrabatt Gully Organics. Stallholders are required to be producers within the region, ensuring no re-sellers are permitted.
The organization supports the local food system through education, networking, and advocacy for equitable access to high-quality local produce. It hosts events like the Bungendore Harvest Festival and offers a Multi-Farm Produce Box Scheme following the Community Supported Agriculture model.
