Boric Food Market is a multi-generational family business that has evolved from a roadside fruit stall into a speciality food market. The Boric family purchased their original orchard in 1942 and shifted to the Kumeu property in 1962, where they planted fruit trees that are still producing today.
Visitors can find fifteen traditional varieties of apples, pears, citrus, figs, plums, peaches, and quince grown on-site. The market also stocks organic, raw, and gluten-free specialty items, locally made wines, and craft beers. The delicatessen offers hand-crafted delicacies using ingredients sourced from the store or the onsite orchard.
The orchard is managed with limited spraying and beneficial insects to reduce pests. It is located just 20 minutes from Auckland CBD.
