Peter and Claire Hansen run a small herd of registered Jersey show cows at their farm in Fernside. The average dairy herd in New Zealand is 440 head, but the Hansens focus on individual care for their 16 hand-picked cows.
Customers fill their own bottles with fresh raw milk from self-serve vending machines located just above Fernside school. The milk comes directly from the farm without being trucked to a factory.
