Hill Road Orchard is a small orchard located in the Ormond township just outside of Gisborne. It is run by Cath and Matt with help from their boys, Harry and Jack. The orchard enjoys a unique climate which allows them to grow fruit that is full of flavour.
The farm shop at 44 Hill Road is open Wednesday to Friday from 10am to 5pm and Saturday from 10am to 2pm. Products also include unpasteurised orange juice, jams, chutneys, and honey. Some products are available for delivery within Gisborne city limits.
They aim to use as few inputs as possible, using management techniques such as pruning to assist with pest management. Fruit is allowed to ripen to full maturity in the sun. The orchard also supports other local producers by retailing their products via the online store.
