Olliff Farm produces pasture eggs and spray-free produce near Silverdale. Its hens live with access to pasture, and solar-powered mobile coops are moved every few days to give them fresh ground. The hens forage for insects, seeds and greens. Manure falls through the coop floors to fertilise the land.
Eggs can be ordered through the farm’s online store for collection at 438 Waitoki Road. Click and collect operates seven days a week from 9am to 6pm. Place an order first; these are collection hours rather than a promise of an open browsing shop. Check the current range and pack sizes before ordering.
The farm won the fresh category at the 2021 Artisan Awards and has also received an Outstanding Food Producers Award gold medal. The farm’s own story centres on its pasture system and the daily care of the hens. It sells eggs directly as well as supplying food businesses.
