The Good Cow is a small-scale operation located just north of Woodend, delivering fresh farm milk from their herd to the public. The journey began with a dream to create a home-based business alongside other farming activities like rearing calves and growing grain.
Visitors can purchase raw milk directly from the farm using a self-service vending machine system that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can fill your own container or buy plastic and glass bottles. The milk is described as 100% natural, unprocessed, and rich in probiotics, vitamins, and minerals.
The farm uses a low impact sustainable method, ensuring healthy soils with lots of organic matter. Cows are fed grass, cereal balage, and barley grown on the farm. The milk is available for $3.50 per litre, with glass bottles sold for $5.00 and plastic for $2.50.
