Warrah Farm Shop is a social enterprise located on a working biodynamic farm in Dural. The operation began in 1965 as a small vegetable garden created by Karl and Hannelore Kaltenbach to help young adults with intellectual disability learn skills and engage in purposeful work. Today the farm and shop have been certified organic and biodynamic since 1994.
Visitors can purchase a full range of certified organic and biodynamic fruit and vegetables alongside dairy products, eggs, and regeneratively farmed chicken, pork and beef. The shop also stocks vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, Paleo, GAPS and low FODMAP groceries. Customers can order seasonal produce boxes for pickup on Tuesdays or Thursdays, or visit the retail shop Monday to Friday and Saturday. All profits fund Warrah’s disability services.
The team grows most produce manually using common hand tools to ensure freshness. The farm supplies organic fruit and vegetables to collection points around Sydney. Farm tours are available for school students and the public can learn about the therapeutic benefits of working the land.
